NewsHousehold Hazmat Collection Day We are collecting florescent light bulbs, batteries, and household paint during fellowship November 19.

Would you like to clear out that household hazmat pile before your family and friends descend for Thanksgiving?

The Smiths are driving to the Wake County Convenience Center the week before Thanksgiving and are happy to take along items in your “proper disposal” pile.  They are collecting these items:

household batteries – disposable and rechargeable  – not car batteries

florescent light bulbs – curly and long tube – unbroken

cans of house paint and spray paint – first come, first serve (the Smiths have limited space in their car)

Bring your items to the drop off table in the Vaughan Fellowship Hall during fellowship on November 19 ONLY.  There will be designated spots for each type of item.  Please do not leave them during the week for the Smiths; these items are hazardous and we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Collecting our hazardous materials for proper disposal is a project of CUCC’s Justice in a Changing Climate.  Some of the materials can be reused, reducing our carbon footprint.
