NewsA wilted plant in shades of brown emphasizes the message "Drought cancels CSA summer season"

The drought in NC has been very hard on Rocky Ridge Farm forcing them to call off the summer season for our CSA.  Our farming friends need the summer and some rain to allow them to regroup and recover for the fall season.  Because of the drought, the farm workload has increased, and the farm pond that they depend on for watering their crops is dangerously low. In the photo, the large foreground area of cracked earth and low grasses would normally be deeply covered with water from spring rains.

Against a blue sky and treed skyline, the Rocky Ridge Farm pond is shallow in the distance. In the foreground, a large area of cracked soil and low green grasses shows the area where the water has receded.

Rocky Ridge Farm plans to start the fall season on schedule from September 19th – November 7th. Stay tuned. We’ll be selling shares as the September date get nearer.

In the meantime, please pray for them, their farm and indeed all farms in this drought.
