Join in a service of quiet meditation, scripture reading, singing of chants and other simple repetitive hymns or songs, and prayer. A unique feature of Taizé is the substantial silent time for meditation. On the third Sunday we share communion. Taizé originated with the Taizé community in France.
At Community United Church of Christ, Taizé is planned and led by lay people from the congregation. Musical leadership is varied with guitar, organ, flute, and piano employed from one week to the next. Attendance of about a dozen people gives this service an intimate atmosphere. We regularly welcome people from other congregations who begin their Sundays with us, then go to their home church for their major worship service. Feel free to drop in on this service at any time even if you don’t plan to attend regularly.
After worship, we gather at Whole Foods. This is a good time to meet a few people and ask questions about CUCC.
