Last Saturday afternoon, a few of us got together to create greeting cards and decorate pumpkins for the CUCC auction, on October 4th. We spent time together sharing stories, catching up on what’s going on in our lives and learning how to create cards with watercolors and paper punchers. Everyone was nervous about the skill required to create the cards and decorate the pumpkins with napkins. But as it turns out, we were all naturals. Everyone discovered their own style of mixing colors and applying watercolor washes to the cards. Punching out hedgehogs, butterflies and owls, the little fellas were either glued onto the cards or the envelopes. The most fun came last when we applied splatter to the cards.

Decorating foam pumpkins with napkins by using modge podge took creativity and copious amounts of patience. Both were in great supply. Once our pumpkins looked like beautiful fall additions to any home, we added a bit of glitter with gold foil, which stuck to our hands, faces and clothing, too.

We had a wonderful time being creative together. And we happily see these cards and pumpkins find their new homes during the silent auction on October 4th.
