As December comes to a close, we are pausing to reflect on the year that has passed and to anticipate the one that is coming. Looking back at 2021, we remember the challenges brought on by the pandemic, but we also celebrate the resilience of our church community. We give thanks for the careful, faithful way each and every one of you has risen to the challenge to keep one another safe this year.

We recognize that there may be some uncertainty as we learn more about the new Omicron COVID-19 variant. Pastor Lacey and our Path Forward Team are closely monitoring the news from the CDC. We have decided to suspend indoor fellowship (eating and drinking) for the time being. We encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and boosted. We will also continue to adhere to our mask policy whenever we are indoors together. If you are sick, please stay home and connect with us online at www.communutyucc.org.

We are all very tired of pandemic stress but as we anticipate another wave of infections, it’s more important than ever to remain vigilant and informed. If we need to make changes to the way we are gathering — we will. If we need to return to some form of online worship, we will — knowing that these decisions are in everyone’s best interests and are only temporary. The good news is that we have many tools to fight COVID-19. We are not in the same place we were last December.

The pandemic continues to shift and change but our love for one another and God’s love for us does not change. Thank you for your flexibility and willingness to try new things as we navigate these uncertain times together.
