This year Community Outreach is organizing an advent collection for Method Child Development Center. CUCC has long supported this organization, having joined with four other churches in 1969 through Rich Park to found the first multi-racial day care center in Raleigh. Method Child Development Center’s mission is to serve children from all socioeconomic backgrounds, and it proudly continues that tradition. There will be boxes in the narthex through advent to collect donations from the congregation.
Donation items include:
Inflatable sports balls, wooden puzzles for toddlers, and arts and crafts supplies suitable for young children (dot markers, glue sticks, construction paper, washable chalk and markers, kids paintbrushes and washable tempera paint). Charles can share the detailed wish list provided by Method Child Development Center if you’d like one, and one will be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway and by the collection box).
The collection continues until December 25.
