NewsArts in Worship field trip

On Saturday, June 24, a delegation from the Arts in Worship Committee, Bill Gretsch, Marty Lamb and Vivian Hunter, visited Jerry’s Artarama to get ideas for using the Arts to enhance our corporate and individual Worship in new ways.

DID WE EVER!!!

The manager, Brenon Day, had been tipped off that we were coming, and we were joined by him. He had extensive experience with the arts in his own church and profession, in teaching, leading, involving, and being creative using various art forms in many ways. He regaled us with stories and examples and gave us samples of materials we could use to create an engaging, meaningful and fun program. We came away with dynamite ideas, which we chewed upon together over at a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant. We will be using some of these ideas in a hands-on and educational program at the Monday Lunch Group.

Monday Lunch Group art experience planned for August 14

Bring your lunch and eat with us at noon or come for just the program at 12:30. Our hour will include a brief presentation of how the arts enhance worship and vice versa, examples relevant to CUCC, techniques, and hands-on creation of individual art that will be assembled together to inspire CUCC. It will be a fun, insightful, meaningful, experiential, contemplative, worshipful, expressive, and surprising experience.

“COME AND SEE”
