We hope you will join us for worship as we find delight during the season of Lent.
Lent is a 40 day period during which Christians focus their attention on deepening their connection with God. Scripture readings follow Jesus’ ministry as he moved toward Jerusalem, the capital city and religious center of the Jewish people. The final week of Lent, often called “Holy Week,” calls Christians to reflect on the events traditionally associated with his final week of life, leading up to his murder as a political and religious prisoner.
Often a period of introspection, confession and forgiveness, our Lenten practice this year will instead encourage us to find delight in God’s love as it appears in our lives. After a year of coronavirus, we need to delight together and individually. Printable brochure of all Lenten opportunities
Joining us for worship on Zoom
Currently we worship on Zoom on Sunday mornings. At 9-9:30 AM an intimate service of meditation in the style of the Taizé community in France is offered. From 10:30-11:30 AM we gather, all ages together, for singing, prayer, scripture and learning. After both worship services we linger for conversation in small groups. This is a good time to get to know people and ask questions.
Lent also offers us opportunities to worship on other days of the week. Read a description of Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday Way of the Cross, and Forest Bathing Spiritual Walk.
Season of Lent Worship Schedule
You can follow the scripture readings for each Sunday of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter, and discuss them at Lenten Lectionary Lunch on Wednesdays at 11am.
All Lenten worship opportunities are on Zoom. To receive the Zoom information, contact Pastor Lacey at lacey.cucc@gmail.com. Provide your name, phone number and email address and we will get back in touch with you.
