NewsBrother Percival invites you to join him at rest along the Pilgrim's Way.

Ordinary Time… the liturgical season for growth and maturation.  What does that mean at Community UCC?

For us, this is the season of all-generations Vacation Bible School, this year titled Every Body One Body.  We are finally traveling again, catching up with loved ones whom we haven’t seen in over a year, and joining worship from distant cities.

Reading the lectionary together

You can follow the scripture readings for each Sunday of Ordinary Time, and discuss them with others at Lenten Lectionary Lunch on Wednesdays at 1pm.

Lectionary readings for Ordinary Time

Our summer Sunday worship will be on Zoom.  To receive the Zoom information, contact Pastor Lacey at lacey.cucc@gmail.com. Provide your name, phone number and email address and we will get back in touch with you.

What’s happening at worship each week?

Because the summer/fall chunk of Ordinary Time is so long, this list includes only the Sundays of July through Labor Day Sunday.

Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time: July 4

We welcome Rev. Dr. Tony Hoshaw to the pulpit.  Pastor Tony served as one of our bridge co-pastors while we searched for Pastor Lacey.

Bring something to eat and drink to 10:30 worship as we celebrate communion together.

Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time: July 11

Today we join the United Church of Christ in celebrating the beginning of General Synod 33, and we pray for our Bail Bond Reform team as they present implementation ideas at the July 17 “conversation.”

Eight Sunday of Ordinary Time:  July 18

Bring something to eat and drink to Taizé as we celebrate communion together.

Ninth Sunday of Ordinary Time:  July 25

As is our tradition, when CUCC’s youth return from retreat or mission, they adapt the experience for worship so that the rest of us can taste the experience. This week’s service moves through the four phases of their retreat:  let go, lean in, dream up and carry on.

Tenth Sunday of Ordinary Time:  August 1

Bring something to eat and drink to 10:30 worship as we celebrate communion together.

First of three part series on the focus scripture for Every Body One Body VBS.

We thank God for the artist who carved Brother Percival, and for the people of Harrietsham, UK, who give him – and us –  a place to rest along the Pilgrim’s Way.
