NewsTaize' worship on Sundays from 9 to 9:30AM on Zoon

Did you know that CUCC has a quiet and thriving ministry at 9:00 to 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings?

Taizé worship at CUCC, which began in 1993, continues today as an online-only worship opportunity open to the whole community. On a recent Sunday, 24 people gathered for a half hour of worship, with attendees Zooming in from Texas, Maine, Pennsylvania and Austria as well as North Carolina. Participants are members of many congregations, some of whom then worship with their home church later in the morning.

Worship services are planned by participant volunteers in rotation, with the music and prayers inspired by different Christian traditions. Pastor Lacey offers a brief homily, and each week includes a period for silent meditation. On third Sundays, they celebrate communion. After worship, the Zoom remains open so that participants can stay for conversation.

If worship through music, prayer and silence appeals to you, check out Taizé at 9AM Sundays. The Zoom link is in the Monday Online Events email each week. You may also ask Lavon Page to add you to the weekly reminder which includes the order of worship for the day as well as the Zoom link. lavonpage@gmail.com
