This week, our Community UCC Deacons gathered for a retreat focused on deepening their understanding of their governance, calling, and role in serving the church. Megan Fackler, Chair of the Deacons, and Susan Atkinson led several engaging and fruitful conversations that fostered wisdom, creativity, laughter, and prayer.
Pastor Lacey guided a session exploring the biblical foundations and history of Deacons, while Pastor Santi facilitated a creative name tag activity. Each Deacon designed a unique, personalized name tag that reflects their individuality and will help them be more easily recognized as they serve the congregation.
The retreat was a meaningful time of learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth as the Deacons continue to strengthen their ministry together.
