Hi, CUCC colleagues. Our church is part of the Southern Conference (SOC) of the UCC. I
have the honor to serve on that board of directors.
Our Conference Minister (sort of “bishop”) of the SOC is Dr Edward Davis. Late last year Dr
Davis began a leave of absence, and the board was asked to appoint a temporary Conference
Minister until Dr Davis’ return.
It is my pleasure to tell you that with very strong support, we have appointed Rev. Eddie
Weathers temporary Conference Minister! Some of you may know Rev. Weathers (Eddie)
because he was our Eastern Association assistant conference minister until he retired last year.
With Eddie’s experience and personality, I am confident he will be an strong asset and do a
great job in this temporary position. Please warmly welcome Eddie should you get the chance.
If you would like to learn more and read some of Eddie’s words, check the article in last week’s
SOC Newsletter.
God’s blessings.
