Candidates Forum addressing issues facing persons with disabilities

It is estimated that 20 percent of the US population has at least one disability. Having a disability impacts access to community life. Similarly, it is also estimated that the city of Raleigh has a population of persons with disabilities of approximately 10 percent. Therefore, community organizations advocate for their full integration and inclusion into the community.

On September 16, 2026, at 7:00 PM Community United Church of Christ will host a candidates forum for those seeking office in the city of Raleigh. The purpose of this candidates forum is for candidates to address those issues facing persons with disabilities on access to accessible and affordable housing, access to employment opportunities, and access to public transportation. This candidates forum will be formatted as a question and answer conversation between the host and participating candidates. Hence, you are cordially invited to participate in this forum.
