NewsSmall birds gaze down from a concrete pillar. Come to Life & Faith February 3, 6:30PM, at Transfer Co. Food Hall

CUCCers and friends gather every first Monday at a place in the community for libation and conversation, considering together the intersection of life and faith.  This month we are at Transfer Co. Food Hall; arrive at 6:30pm to buy your dinner or a drink and conversation runs from 7-8PM.  You are invited to bring a question for the group, but if none is offered, Jane Smith provides a back up question.  Guests are welcome!

Psalm 84 1 to 4February 3 back up questions

A psalms in the February 2 lectionary readings is Psalm 84.  Our questions circle around these 4 verses.

Describe one of God’s “lovely” indoor dwelling places where you have worshipped with friends or family.  What specific features of the space helped you sense God’s presence?  Which of your senses were involved?  How does the psalmist’s focus on the nesting birds at the altars widen what you notice about your space?  Is there a feature of CUCC’s sanctuary (either at Dixie Trail or online) which consistently reminds you of God’s presence?

What is Life & Faith?

Sometimes a change of location and a libation improve the conversation.

Life & Faith began in a local brewery.  Questions for discussion arise from the group as each of us tries to figure out how to put into practice what we believe.  We talk about family, work, community.  We don’t always agree; we do laugh together. If no one has a question that night, Jane Smith brings a back up question to start the discussion.

What is said at Life & Faith stays at Life & Faith!  We seek to be a safe place for one another.

This is a fluid group and friends are welcome – just drop in!  We try to model God’s generosity by tipping well, whether we order water or a full meal.  If you prefer not to order food or drink, there is a water dispenser under the stairs on the ground floor.  Parking (along the side and in the back) is well lit and there are accessible parking spaces.  Look for the Life & Faith red comma in a maroon vase on our table or call Jane Smith to find out where we are sitting.  Her phone number is in Breeze or is available from office.cucc@gmail.com.
