In October and November, we will gather to discern where God is leading CUCC through the work of one of our ministries.
Three informational meetings
For months, CUCC’s Council-designated Joint CUCC/CCLIHC Task Force has been gathering information about an offer to purchase the six-plex and associated property on O’Berry Street held by the Community Church Low-Income Housing Corp. (CCLIHC). The work of the Task Force has reached a culmination, and it is now time to present their findings to the congregation. Council has scheduled 3 informational meetings during October so the Task Force and other related ministries can present valuable information to the congregation. Along with presentations from the Task Force, we will also hear from the CCLIHC’s Board, the Property Ministry, the Treasurer and Stewardship Ministry, and the Do Justice Ministry. The intent of these meetings is to share information and facts so that CUCC members can prayerfully consider the purchase and ask questions.
All of the meetings will be hybrid – both in the Vaughan Fellowship Hall and on Zoom – from 11:45am to 1:15pm. We will record the meetings so those who cannot attend can watch the presentations later.
Schedule
October 9 – Joint CUCC/CCLIHC Task Force Presentation of Findings
October 16 – Treasurer, Stewardship Ministry, Property Ministry, Joint CUCC/CCLIHC Task Force Q&A
October 23 – Community Church Low Income Housing Corp., Do Justice Ministry
Special Congregational Meeting November 6
After the 3 informational meetings in October, Council will call a Special Congregational Meeting in the Vaughan Fellowship Hall and on Zoom on Sunday, November 6 at 11:45am to vote on whether to move forward with a sale of the property. This vote will inform the CCLIHC Board about the congregation’s view of the potential sale.
We will have our regularly scheduled November congregational meeting on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 11:45am.
