God, speaking through the prophet Micah, calls us to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.” At Community UCC, acting in mercy and working for justice are at the heart of what we do together and in our daily lives.
Three ongoing groups at Community UCC provide us with opportunities. The Community Outreach Ministry mobilizes us to meet the current needs of our neighbors. The Do Justice Ministry helps us advocate for more just structures in society. Justice in a Changing Climate, a special task force of the congregation, focuses on our response to the climate crisis and especially addresses the effect of climate change on those with the fewest resources.
All of these groups are active, meeting to plan and providing opportunities for the congregation to act in mercy and work for justice. Upcoming opportunities to serve together are described in CUCC News & Events.
We take seriously our responsibility to “raise up the next generation of spiritually growing, justice people.” Read about the justice work of our children and youth.
Resolutions are one way we raise our voice for justice and keep ourselves honest.
