NewsL'Arche NC Brunch & Belonging

L’Arche North Carolina invites you and your congregation to Brunch & Belonging on Saturday, October 17, from 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary.

You won’t want to miss this morning of handmade crepes from Simply Crepes, signature mimosas, a silent auction, and a Story Slam featuring voices from the L’Arche community. Come ready to laugh, connect with others, and be moved by stories that stay with you.

L’Arche North Carolina is part of an international movement creating communities where people with and without IDD share life together in relationships built on mutuality, dignity, and belonging. Here in North Carolina, that work happens in our homes in Durham and through programs and gatherings throughout the Triangle.

The L’Arche community extends well beyond the walls of it’s homes. Programs like Jam Together, Craft Together, Cook Together, and Y’all Belong Here create regular opportunities for people of all abilities to make music, create art, cook, laugh, build friendships, and simply spend time together. Community events, volunteer opportunities, shared meals, and celebrations offer even more ways for people to connect and experience what L’Arche means when we say that everyone has gifts to share.

As L’Arche NC grows, with two new homes in Durham now being renovated, they are preparing to welcome more people into both it’s residential and community life. That growth also means a growing need for the unrestricted support that keeps our homes and programs strong.

As Community UCC continues its relationship with L’Arche, we extend this invitation to join Brunch & Belonging on October 17. Contact Pastor Lacey for information on the event.
