Ever wonder how others navigate the day-to-day of following Jesus? How does your life intersect with (collide with) your faith?
Life & Faith is a monthly opportunity to have those conversations over a glass of your favorite refreshment. We bring our questions and our stories, getting ideas from each other. Jane Smith, the convener, brings a back up question if needed to get us started.
February 7 we’ll gather on the patio of Transfer Co. Food Hall at the sunken table area about midway through the main floor of the hall. Those who want dinner or a beverage should arrive by 6:30 to buy your own. Conversation runs 7-8PM. You’ll find us at the table with our Life & Faith comma. Friends are welcome!
We have two guidelines – What is said at Life & Faith stays there AND we tip generously.
February’s back up question if no one brings one to discuss
Jesus called a handful of folks to leave their work to “come and see” God’s kin-dom in action. After his murder, they went back to their work and tried – together – to figure out how to live the good news they had seen.
We leave worship Sunday morning and return to our work – paid and unpaid. Do you have a story where you saw the kin-dom of God at work in a colleague or client? Is there a part of how you work where you sense Spirit nudging you to do what you do so others see the kin-dom more clearly? Do you have a colleague with whom you can speak freely about faith and work? Imagine that CUCC were providing opportunities to figure out work & faith; what would that look like for you?
Whether your “work” is the job that pays your bills, babysitting grandchildren, volunteering your skills and life experience, or being the neighbor who listens and comforts, let’s talk work and faith.
If you would like to receive the email reminder with the back up question, contact Jane Smith at smithjeg@mindspring.com.
