You may recall that a few weeks ago I reported to you that the SOC Board of Directors had “appointed Rev. Eddie Weathers Temporary Conference Minister!” Reverend Weathers will serve in this position while Conference Minister Davis is on a leave of absence.
Saturday, the Board had a routine meeting in Durham, and Reverend Weathers was with us. This was my first time working with him since his appointment. I was thrilled to see that his leadership at the meeting was very pastoral to both the Board and the SOC staff. On several occasions, the words he spoke and the way he delivered them moved us and the debate to a higher, more God focused, level.
I believe that Reverend Weathers is the right person for this time and place, and I hope you will continue to pray for him and his temporary ministry with us.
