Advent 2023NewsChristmas idea: Make a donation in honor of a loved one to the Apostles Build project

Is there someone on your Christmas list for whom you struggle to find the perfect gift?  Maybe someone someone with too many things and a big heart, or a handy person who loves to build things?  Do you have holiday host or neighbor gifts to buy?  Consider making a donation toward the construction materials costs of our Apostles Build home with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.

Here is how to donate.  The participating congregations are asked to contribute financially to cover costs of construction materials.  Divided evenly, that would make CUCC’s share $6500.  The Community Outreach Ministry will match your donations 1:1.  You can donate by:

  • Writing a check to CUCC with “Habitat” in the memo line.
  • Donating online via our website or through your Breeze account.  Select “Habitat” in the drop down menu.
  • Text  your amount and “Habitat” to 919-888-4541.

I am still interested in helping on the construction site.  How can I help?

There is 1 slot remaining for the January 6; the December 2 registration has closed.

We are asked to provide 15 volunteers each day, and the day runs from 8:15am to 3:30pm with lunch provided. No prior construction experience necessary. Volunteers must be 16 or older.

Please register individually and sign up at the link on one of those two dates (or both!).  Register here today

  • Make lunch.  We are responsible for lunch on our two work days.

Contact Charles Coble to volunteer to provide part of the meal or be on the delivery team on December 2.

Contact Pastor Śānti  to volunteer to assist the Youth Group with preparing or delivering the meal on January 6.

Let’s roll up our sleeves for some wonderful fellowship together, while making a real contribution to battling the affordable housing crisis in our community! Please contact Charles Coble with questions at charlescoble72@gmail.com.
