CUCC’s first Chili Cook Off was a grand success, raising $680 in honor of Glenn and Shannon Core for the Loaves and Fishes Ministry.  Twenty-five chefs contributed their finely-crafted chilis.  The congregation took their task of tasting seriously, marking their ballots for their favorite of five tastes.  The building was abuzz with conversation and laughter, made all the sweeter by the addition of three new CUCC members that morning during worship.

We congratulate Roger Manus, the winner, and Mike Cline, runner-up.

Cook Off coordinators Pastor Lacey and Jane Smith would like to thank the fifteen chili maestros and the two dozen volunteers who helped with set up and clean up, who were Chili Helpers, took photographs, and who checked in the chilis.  Thanks also to those who let us borrow ladles and crockpots.

If you have an idea for an after-worship meal that you would like to organize, contact Pastor Lacey at  CUCC is full of folks who like to cook or will help with the set up and clean up, so you could have a crew of folks to help.
