The June workday focused on outdoor projects with barrels of weeds removed from around the property and two trees extensively trimmed. Volunteers also spread mulch, washed signage, picked up pinecones and rebuilt a toilet. (By the way, pinecones placed around plants will keep the squirrels from digging up the roots.)

The next workday will be held on Saturday, September 10, but projects are always available by calling Property Ministry chairperson Merrilee Jacobson at 919-274-4539.

Here’s a “did you know” fact. An hour of volunteer time is valued at $29.95, so the June work day was ”worth” at least $600. Our volunteers are, of course, priceless, but it does show what CUCC might have to pay to hire this important work done.
