NewsPray for the youth beach retreat this weekend

Seven CUCC youth and three adults will join eight Pullen youth and three adults on a Spring Beach Retreat at the Trinity Center in Salter Path, NC from April 26-28. The Theme is Kind and Courageous Friendships and our central text is John 15:9-17, which is also the lectionary text for the Sunday after that, May 5, which is Youth Led Worship at CUCC. Our Beach retreat will include beach fun, friendship building, a worship planning workshop, games, a movie, meals together, and a prayer service on Sunday morning.

We are called to be friends with one another and CUCC Youth are working to answer that call! Please pray for our travel, for the weather, for our friendship building, and for our youth led worship workshop.

We thank Pullen for inviting us, we thank the families that are supporting their youth for this trip, and we thank Heather Burkhardt, Bill Bryan, and Pastor Santi for chaperoning.

If you have questions about what CUCC’s youth are doing next, contact Pastor Śānti Matthews at education.cucc@gmail.com.

As the Father has loved me [Jesus], so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.
