Next, listen to the CUCC’s Ministry Moment from October 10 here (Start at minute 44:30)

People of many faiths from around the Triangle will form a socially distanced Human Prayer Chain for Climate Justice along Wade Avenue in Raleigh (masks highly encouraged). As part of the global Faiths 4 Climate Justice movement, Triangle faith communities are coming together to urge U.S. and world leaders to take bold action on climate in the U.S. Congress and at the U.N. COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland in November.

The prayer chain begins at 5:00 on October 18 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh (UUFR) and will extend as far down Wade Avenue as we have souls to take us! At 6:00, local clergy will lead a short Outdoor Prayer Vigil for Climate Justice at UUFR (social distance and masks required). Parking will be available at UUFR, 3313 Wade Avenue, and at Community United Church of Christ, 814 Dixie Trail at Wade Avenue. Come on your own or with a group. Check out the 16 participating faith communities and counting and add your congregation.  The event is sponsored by Interfaith Creation Care of the Triangle of which CUCC’s Justice in a Changing Climate task force is a member.

If you register to participate, details for finding your place in the chain will be provided. You can learn more here.
