NewsBring used cooking oil and clean, used egg cartons to the Recyclable Collection Event and Native Plant Sale at West Raleigh Presbyterian Church on April 20.

Alongside items for Anything with a Plug (find a list here), our neighborhood church friends at West Raleigh Presbyterian Church will also be collecting material for our Black Farmers to Churches Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) partners.  Remember these items when you go to WRPC to drop off other recyclables or buy plants at the native plant sale on April 20.

Used cooking oil: Steve and Elke at Rocky Ridge Farm will recycle used frying oil into biodiesel for their own on-farm equipment. Please strain out food bits and pour your batches together into plastic jugs of at least 1 gallon.

Egg cartons: Dulime and Myrlande at LaKay Farm will use clean, intact egg cartons for packaging shares. Paper, styrofoam and plastic are all fine. You can bring them to the April 20 collection day at WRPC and/or leave them in the double-doored closet in CUCC’s Vaughan Fellowship Hall anytime. (Urban Ministries is no longer accepting egg cartons, so we’ll send them to our poultry farmers instead.)
