On Sunday, January 29 during worship, the members of Community UCC reaffirmed our commitment to the Carbon Covenant for Our Buildings. Greg Eades reported that our CO2e emissions have decreased 66.7% since our 2010 baseline!

With humility and in hope, we seek God’s help and entrust ourselves to God’s mercy as we plan and implement actions to fulfill this covenant.
Thank you to each of you who remembers to reset our thermostats, turn off the lights, or think about whether to Zoom a meeting or schedule it for on campus. Each of these actions reduces our use of electricity and gas, reducing our CO2e emissions.
Thank you, also, for pledging financially to the budget of CUCC. This year we were able to budget $10,000 into a capital reserve, a start on the funds we will need to replace major electric and gas powered equipment in the next few years.
