NewsWork Day Recap

With a chance that last Saturday’s work day would be canceled due to heavy rain, property volunteers pitched in and tackled projects over the course of several DAYS last week. Barrels of pine straw were swept up around the courtyard area with some being used to stabilize soil on the slope leading to the fire pit. Other volunteers weeded along the Dixie Trail and Wade Avenue banks and then added mulch to give our plants some needed protection. Two of the large landscaped areas at the Dixie Trail parking lot entrance were also mulched to make our property even more welcoming to members and visitors alike. A rotted board on the Pilgrim House deck was replaced to keep that area safe, and the Sacraments & Chancel closet was cleaned and re-organized to make items more accessible.

When the promised rain failed to appear on Saturday morning, other volunteers swept cobwebs from exterior doors and windows, cleaned out the trash enclosure, removed debris from drainage areas and painted over an area in the narthex stained by a roof leak.

There are still several items on our “to do” list that volunteers are welcome to take on at their leisure. Please contact Property Ministry Chair Merrilee Jacobson for more information.
