Recap from Pastor Lacey on Conversations Conference UCC

I recently attended a conference designed for UCC Clergy in St. Pete Beach, FL, from January 12–15. The gathering took place at a hotel conference center with around 50 UCC pastors in attendance. Our guest speaker and preacher was Rev. Cody Sanders, a professor at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He helped facilitate our discussions on creating communities of care in the midst of poly-crises. I gained so many wonderful insights to bring back to CUCC. The best part was the peer learning in the various one-on-one conversations with other clergy. The conference served as a wonderful space for renewal and learning, as well as a great setting for networking with the wider denomination. We even had some time for fun; one night, all 50 of us boarded a pirate ship and sailed into the sunset together. ARGH!
