Register now

This year the 2nd Annual ICCT Prayer Chain for the Earth returns to Wade Avenue on October 3. Starting at 5:00 PM, Triangle people of faith and people of conscience will find our socially distanced places on the sidewalks at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh (UUFR) (directions) heading east toward and beyond the Community United Church of Christ (CUCC) (directions).  At 6:00 PM a brief, outdoor clergy-led prayer vigil with music will follow at UUFR. Parking is available at UUFR, CUCC, and on the side streets.

Invite a friend to join you on the sidewalk

This is a positive, family-friendly event; prayers, waves and friendly smiles at passing cars are welcome. If you prefer to keep your children away from the street, you may stand on the grassy lawn above the sidewalk at Community UCC. We invite you to make signs encouraging people to vote for climate action.

Last year 200+ people joined the Prayer Chain. Those who participated remember the inspiring enthusiasm that filled the air! Watch this amazing video from last year’s Prayer Chain to feel the excitement!

The Prayer Chain and Vigil are sponsored by Interfaith Creation Care of the Triangle; CUCC’s Justice in a Changing Climate is a member organization.  For more information, contact Gary Smith at
