NewsRacial Justice Project, September 17 at noon. Assist churches in planning their own racial justice pilgrimage. Learn about the Lowndes Interpretive Center via a video. Discuss what we should do next.

After a summer hiatus, our next scheduled meeting of the Racial Justice Project (RJP) will be after worship (12-1) on Sunday, September 17 in the Bridge Room. Feel free to bring a lunch for yourself.  Anyone interested in being part of CUCC’s work for racial justice is welcome.

What’s on the agenda?

  • We will view the 11 minute video about our 2022 racial justice pilgrimage featuring many on the trip and created by Carson Roach-Howell.  The video is central to our effort to assist other congregations in planning their own racial justice pilgrimage.
  • We will also watch part of a video from and about the wonderful site that we had to miss because it was closed during our trip: the Lowndes Interpretive Center, located on the march from Selma route and operated by the National Park Service.
  • We will discuss plans for future RJP activity.
