We’re excited to share that Pastor Lacey will be stepping into a well-deserved sabbatical beginning August 1. Her last Sunday at CUCC will be July 27, and after a three-month leave, she will return on All Saints Sunday, November 2.

A sabbatical is a time of rest, renewal, and reflection. The intentional time is designed to spark a fresh vision for ministry. Just as God invites all of us to rhythms of work and rest, sabbatical is part of how we care for our Senior Pastor so she can continue to serve CUCC with joy and faithfulness.

This is not just a gift for our pastor, it’s a gift to the whole church. While Lacey is away, Pastor Santi Matthews will become our Acting Senior Minister. The Deacons have prepared us well by also hiring Rev. Doug Long as a co-worship leader and guest preacher for several Sundays in September and October. August – September will be an opportunity for us to hear new voices, discover hidden gifts among us, and continue to grow as a vibrant, Holy Spirit-filled community.

We’re confident that this time will bring renewal both to Lacey and to our entire congregation.
