The Black Farmers to Churches CSA typically holds a blessing of the land at one of our farmer partner’s farms each year.

This year we will gather on September 28 from 3 to 5 PM at the farm of Carolyn Cheek (“CC”) to bless her land and the other farmers’ lands.  Carolyn, her sister Brenda Bryant and Brenda’s husband, John Bryant, provide produce for Good Shepherd UCC, Umstead Park UCC, and Christ the King Lutheran churches.

The address for the blessing is 1937 Lickskillet Road in Warrenton.

This will be the fifth farm to which we have brought blessings, and all of the events have been moving, wonderful, family-friendly times together.

Please reserve the date, and plan to come. It’ll be a great opportunity to see some of CC’s farm, meet other farmers, and greet CSA members from the other churches.  Participating in a blessing of the land is an important way we can show we that thank God for the farmers and support their important work. So whether you have participated in the CSA or not, or been to another blessing before or not, please try to come.
