NewsA cracked pane in the glass doors at Fort Myers Congregational UCC reminds them that God is always at work in their broken places.

In Sunday’s sermon, Pastor Lacey told two stories to help us imagine the connection between repentance and peace.  For those who missed the sermon, you can view it here.

I was curious about both stories, and Pastor Lacey provided some background.

The Pile of Regret

Several of our parks have collections of pilfered rocks returned, accompanied by letters of regret.

View the video about the rocks returned to Escalante Petrified Forest State Park here.

See the Pile of Regret at the Petrified Forest National Park and read the possible origin story from Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park here.

The cracked window

We thank Pastor Lacey’s dad, Glen Brown, for the story of the cracked window which has become a symbol for Fort Myers Congregational UCC.  Thanks for the photo (above), too, Glen.
