Three times each year, CUCC joins Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to prepare and serve a meal to the women at the Helen Wright Center, an overnight emergency shelter for women in our area. Volunteers are needed to:
- prepare part of the meal (Families are welcome!!!)
- join others at the Center to serve the meal.
Those who prepare the food have an assigned item to prepare at home; you and your team will create the menu and decide who is bringing what. Those who serve pick up the food and bring it to the Center, plating up the items and offering seconds. Together with Holy Trinity Lutheran, our team will prepare food for 65 women.
This year’s dates are all Sunday evening meals: June 15, August 17, and December 21, with the youth group having primary responsibility on December 21. We need at least 4 volunteers each for June 15 and August 17.
Please email Charles Coble if you are interested, letting him know if you want to prepare or serve. Once we have our teams together, Charles will put one member of each team in contact with our counterpart for Holy Trinity so you can begin planning.
