Considering Independence Day, we will hear from three different voices on the topic of “Citizenship and Faith” on Sunday, July 3. Our speakers will be Representative Cynthia Ball from the NC House of Representatives, Mike Cline the NC State Demographer, and Greg Flynn member of the Wake County Board of Elections.
We all want to protect civil liberties and uphold democratic ideals. How and when should our Christian faith inform our politics? Are we called to get more involved in things like voter registration, legislation advocacy, and policy work? These are complicated questions and yet, we exist as both Christians and citizens of the United States. Are those two identities aligned or in conflict? In answering these complex questions, it’s good to hear from people who are bridging the gap and doing important work in the community.
I hope you will join us either in-person or online at 10:30am on Sunday, July 3.
