Since 1951, the North Carolina Peace Booth has been a staple at the State Fair. Many local congregations, including CUCC, provide volunteers to talk with literally thousands of fair attendees about ways in which our world can nurture peace. This year, Gary Smith, Robert Parrish, Roger Manus, Doug Barrick, and Merrilee and Ken Jacobson encouraged attendees to sign a petition about nuclear nonproliferation that will be sent to our U.S. senators.
