On Friday, March 18 Pastor Lacey baptized two children from the Alexander family during a small, private ceremony. Baptism is one of two sacraments celebrated at Community UCC. The other sacrament is communion. We believe that in the waters of baptism we are claimed and named as God’s beloved.
During the ceremony, the grandparents were invited to read aloud letters they had prepared for the children. The letters are a keepsake. Someday in the future, when the children are old enough to inquire about their baptism, Jackie and Siobhan will tell them about the special day at Community UCC and share the letters of love and support once again.
We are delighted to welcome two new children into the family of faith and we celebrate the Holy Spirit’s activity in our community.
