In 1989 Community UCC made official what we already practiced – the full inclusion of God’s beloveds, whether homosexual or heterosexual. By 2011 we had met people whom God gendered in so many fabulous ways, and we widened the welcome. (See the resolutions here).
Yet we know that there are voices of condemnation coming from churches in our community. We are heartbroken over the pain caused to our siblings whom God created in such beauty and variety.
That’s why we attend Out!Raleigh, an opportunity to celebrate with our friends and to be a voice for God’s delight in each person we will meet that day!

All you do is smile, say hello, and let people know that Community UCC would love to have them be part of who we are and what we do. Be yourself, listen, and speak from your heart and experience. This is a ministry of presence and, when appropriate, invitation.
