Please bring new and like-new women’s or unisex socks, gloves/mittens and hats to worship throughout February. We will have a collection station near the baptismal font in our sanctuary so we can watch the warmth grow. After February 22 (the last Sunday in February), they will be delivered to the women’s White Flag Shelter at First Baptist Church, an emergency overnight shelter for women on nights where the temperature drops below 35F. Several CUCC members are White Flag Shelter volunteers, and they have observed the need first hand.
If you would like to learn more about volunteering at the White Flag Shelter, contact Mike Soboeiro. If you would like to help with future projects to involve CUCC in serving our neighbors, contact Community Outreach chair Charles Coble. Their contact info is in Breeze or via office.cucc@gmail.com.
