Long-time CUCC member Shannon Core died peacefully in her home on September 22, 2023. Read her obituary here.
Shannon joined CUCC in 1986 with her husband Glenn. Over the years she participated in many parts of the life of the congregation, serving over the years as a member of the Community Outreach Ministry, as co-chair (with Glenn) of the Communications Committee, and as chair of the Nominating Committee. Shannon was active in her support of and volunteering with the Loaves and Fishes Ministry. Every winter Shannon would deliver quarts and quarts of chili purchased by members to support Loaves and Fishes – chili that she and Glenn had generally had a hand in making. We will miss her twinkling eyes, her kindness and warmth, and her wisdom. The date and time of her memorial service at CUCC has not yet been set.
The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made her her honor to Community UCC (send a check with Shannon’s name on the memo line) or to Loaves and Fishes (donate here).
