Newsfellowship after worship volunteers needed

In a recent sermon, Pastor Lacey noted that providing hospitality was a core principle of Jesus, that in Christian communities, hospitality is ministry. She went on to ponder “What makes a good guest? What makes a good host? “ She wondered if we thought about this dynamic at Community UCC. I’ve been thinking about that a lot as I work on coordinating the many hands helping to make our Sunday Fellowship Hour possible. We have regulars who set up coffee and buy cheese, crackers and napkins. We have a pool of volunteers who can be called on to help with cleanup, and others who can help in a pinch. But we’re mid-year in the calendar year.

Hosting fellowship is a hospitality ministry I’m hoping you will consider. I’m recruiting volunteers to cover Sundays through the end of the year. If you’re new, I can match you with an experienced hand to show you the ropes. The coffee is already set up, all that is needed is to start it before the service ends. There are sliced cheeses and half & half in the fridge, and lots of crackers, including gluten-free ones, in the bin under the countertop. Plates, napkins and cups are also provided. All that’s needed is to set the table and bring something sweet or savory to supplement the standard fare.
There’s a signup sheet posted on the refrigerator in the kitchen, and I’m also calling on people. I’m hoping you will help.
