Since the January 6 events in Washington, DC, I have been asking myself, “In what ways have my actions at the protests I have attended or planned been like and unlike the actions of the protesters and the insurrectionists? Do I have a plank to take out of my eye?” (Matthew 7:1-5)
The proposed topic for our February 2 Life & Faith conversation is to get your thoughts on what you have learned as you have reflected on January 6 and protest as a tool for doing justice. How does what you believe inform HOW you protest?
Life & Faith is a time for conversation and comparing notes from the intersection of our lives and what each of us believes. Whoever shows up is part of the conversation and people beyond Community UCC are very welcome. We have two guidelines: what is said at Life & Faith, stays confidential within the group AND (when we meet in a local pub) we tip generously to model God’s extravagance.
