NewsTall, crumbly gray stony mountains rise from a tan sandy desert speckled with brown tumbleweed, all under a dusty blue sky. Title: Postcard followup

At the June congregational meeting the Do Justice Ministry distributed 40 postcards supplied by the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance to be sent to members of Congress. Members of the congregation carried out this action.

This campaign was supported by numerous environmental organizations, and the campaign quickly succeeded. Here’s the result as reported in the newsletter of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition: “After Intense Bipartisan Backlash, Public Lands Remain in Public Hands…for Now.”

If you have questions about this ongoing issue, talk to Lavon Page.  The distribution of the postcards was sponsored by CUCC’s Do Justice Ministry thanks to Lavon’s bringing it to their attention.  If you are engaged in justice advocacy work and want to share it with the congregation, talk with Phil Kaveler, chair of the Do Justice Ministry.  Contact information for Lavon or Phil can be found in Breeze or via office.cucc@gmail.com.
