CUCC Zoom Event
Saturday, December 20, 7-8PM
Check your Monday Online Events email for the Zoom access information.
In this season of introspection and pulling close to one another to pause, reflect and ward off the cold, you are warmly invited to share a poem within this circle and listen to others share their poems. We encourage you to turn of your house lights and, instead, light a candle with us.
The poems we share can reflect any aspect of this time of year. You might be drawn to poetry about light and how it helps us hold on to hope, about the gifts or uneasy feelings of darkness, about nature as it prepares to fall into a deep renewing sleep, or the imminent coming of Jesus Christ as a human, shining his light on this earth. – The choice is yours.
“If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” (Psalm 139: 11-12)
Let’s celebrate the Winter Solstice together, joining hands in spirit during this longest night of the year, taking comfort and joy in each other’s company as we share with each other what moves us.
