NewsDrawings of workers of all kinds are framed by the phrase "Labor Day Life & Faith" and "See you there!"

Our regular Life & Faith day (first Mondays) is Labor Day so let’s celebrate with all those who take the extra step to organize for safe and fair working conditions.

As usual, if any of you has a question you would like to discuss, we will use yours instead.

Our back up question for September

According to the US Department of Labor, “Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. The holiday is rooted in the late nineteenth century, when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.”

Jesus (and scripture) have much to say about work – when it can be done, the social conditions of work, how people get paid, and more. But what if we think instead from the perspective of Spirit, the presence of God when we come together as one Body? If work (like everywhere else Spirit is manifest) isn’t just about me but is also about us, how might that influence how we work and how we interact with co-workers or bosses? Bring your stories of workers-in-the-plural and let’s raise a glass to workers united.

When, where, and food

We meet at Transfer Co Food Hall. Arrive at 6:30PM if you want to buy yourself something to eat or drink; conversation begins at 7:00PM and lasts for an hour.  There is a free water dispenser under the stairs; bring your own water bottle, please.

By 6PM the temps are predicted to be in the upper 70s so we will probably meet outside on the back patio. Look for the Life & Faith comma or call Jane if you can’t find us.
